Bernie and I have been like on hot coals waiting for this wedding ever since Anita and Lincoln asked us to document it.
Anita and Lincoln wanted to stray as far away as possible from the typical banquet hall (something refreshing and mostly welcome to us) and remove themselves from the clutter that is Beautiful (but let’s face it, it’s been quite difficult to get around nowadays) Montreal. So they opted to have their wedding at the Rivière du Chêne vineyard just outside the city. And let me tell you, Bern and I cannot wait to shoot here again.
The day itself promised rain. Lots of it. And we were prepared. In fact, we were so prepared that we couldn’t quite believe it when it stopped raining 3/4 of the way to the vineyard. and to top it all off, the heavy grey clouds cleared and the warm sun beamed through just in time allowing them to keep their ceremony outdoors. I still can’t believe it -and I was there. But even if it was to pour cats and dogs, it was clear that the joy and atmosphere was something a few rain drops couldn’t ruin.
One thing that struck closest to home for us with this couple is their love for traveling and food. All conversations with them always led back to food and travel -two things we passionately love and simply cannot get enough of, and was an ongoing theme to their whimsical affair of a wedding. Each table was named after places they had visited and coordinated perfectly with where their family and friends were from. Some even came as far as from Hong Kong and even Japan!
We can’t say enough good things about this couple and their beautiful wedding. From the whimsically rustic flowers to the handmade chalkboard seating chart, polaroid guest book, special song tribute, interactive story telling to the deeeeelicious three course meal (with sorbets in between each!) and the late night sushi spread! I could seriously go on and on..
As the night fell outside, inside the vineyard, the dj got people on the dance floor. And that’s where we left Anita and Lincoln, dancing the night away under the half full moon.
